I Need Help With This Site!
I'm asking anyone who is a fan of this site to become a co-writer for
it. I have a new job that will take away from the amount of time I can
put into this website. I'm probably only going to have time for a
couple of articles a week, which is hardly enough to keep visitors
coming back. All you would have to do is e-mail me the article and I
would be able to post it and give you credit for it.
Have your opinion heard! A different viewpoint would be great for
this site. Please e-mail me if your interested. My e-mail address is

Draft Targets: Nose Tackle
Nose tackle is a huge need for the Cowboys. We dodged a huge
bullet last season because Jason Ferguson stayed healthy. He is
32 and won't be around more than a few more years. More
importantly though is the lack of depth behind him. I'd like to groom
a guy that can replace Ferguson, but first priority is simply finding a
guy that can provide depth as a rookie which is something
Montavious Stanley couldn't do last season.
The first six guys are the only ones that excite me at all. The last
fours guys probably can't even make a roster. The problem with
the upper tier guys is many of them are raw. You aren't going to be
much of anything out of Solai, Thomas, or Doughty next season.
Those guys are long-term projects.
1. DeMarcus Tyler 6’2 306 5.35 NC St.
Tyler is a big, strong experienced player. He is a great run stuffer.
Is a good athlete and he can collapse the pocket. He needs to
provide more consistent effort as he disappears for stretches of a
game. Tyler reminds me of Jason Ferguson. He is stout at the
point, but he is a more athletic nose tackle type. He would be a top
choice if still available in the 2nd round.
2. Paul Solai 6’4 344 5.14 Utah
Solai is a big man with huge upside. He is strong and stout at the
point of attack when he keeps proper leverage. He has decent
athletic ability. He is very raw. His conditioning isn’t very good and
he really wasn’t that productive in college.
3. Quentin Echols 6’1 313 5.05 Kansas St.
Echols is big, strong, and powerful. He plays with good leverage
and he is hard to block. He has good instincts. He is a decent
athlete. He wasn’t very productive in college. Work ethic?
Stamina?
4. Stanley Doughty 6’1 328 5.34 South Carolina
Mountain of a man who can clog the middle. Very strong and
powerful. Really tough to block. He has great athleticism for a man
his size. Productive in limited opportunities. Major character,
maturity, and intelligence issues. Lacks true football instincts.
5. Walter Thomas 6’4 370 5.20 NW Mississippi CC
Thomas is a big, raw tackle with boatloads of upside. He is big and
athletic for a man his size. He flunked out of Oklahoma St. and
spent his remaining years at community college. A long-term
developmental guy with potential.
6. Matt McGlothin 6’0 300 4.94 Tennessee
Stuck behind two good tackles with the Vols that were better suited
for a 4-3. He is strong and a hard worker. He plays with good
leverage. Good athleticism. Would seem to be a good candidate
to at least be a good backup and maybe even more.
7. Joe Cohen 6'3 315 5.20 Florida
Cohen has good size with the frame to get bigger. He has upside if
he can stay healthy. He isn't a true NT prospect. He might be able
to play the position, but he isn't an overly physical player.
8. Ola Dagundro 6’2 313 5.24 Nebraska
Reminds me of Montavious Stanley coming out of college. A good
athlete with good size for the position. Is fairly stout at the point of
attack, but he isn’t a true run stuffer. Will have to develop better
strength and use of the hands.
9. Matt Toeaina 6’2 307 5.14 Oregon
Decent size and he is fairly strong at the point of attack. Matt is a
decent athlete for the position. Wasn’t very productive and he has
problems shedding blockers. Not much upside. Probably doesn’t
have starter potential at NT.
10. Keith Jackson 6’0 305 5.02 Arkansas
Excels at stuffing the run. Can get off blocks and push the pocket.
He was fairly productive. Good football instincts. He lacks great
size. He just doesn’t have much upside.
